Step Into Tech: Tech Job Fair
During the 2023-2024 school year, I worked as an Analyst for the Student Leadership Program under Student Tech Services. Besides, planning and hosting events for student workers/the campus community, I also designed all of the marketing materials for our events. For our Spring 2024 Student Job Fair, I revamped our Fall 2023 flyers.

Original design
In Fall 2023, I brainstormed ideas for the first "Step Into Tech: Job Fair" event my team and I held. When brainstorming the promotional flyer we needed, I thought of how I could visually communicate "navigation", "motion", "paths", and "leading towards new opportunities".
I represented that idea through arrows, combining the technology element with a CPU graphic.
Revamped design
Although my team and I were happy with how the design turned out, I wanted to refresh the flyer for Spring 2024's job fair.

I created four variations of the two slightly different designs (one with a QR code and one without). I made the colors more saturated as I noticed that the old flyer didn't stick out when posted amongst other student flyers. Just like last semester's design, there was an increase focus on accessibility, as I had originally thought of designs that began to lead towards less accessibility, ie. tilted text/graphics.
A small issue we had ran into in Fall 2023 was that our flyer was lost amongst other flyers posted on student boards. To combat this, I designed that bottom set to be attention-grabbing, while not losing the contrast between colors and text (and thus accessibility).
Table Flyers
To match with the new revamp of the flyer, I also slightly revamped the table flyers displaying each team's name.
Sticker sheets
In order to increase engagement with hiring teams and students for Spring 2024's job fair, I created sheets for students to collect stickers for the chance to win prizes!
Reflections
Is there anything I would change about the design?
I'm still really happy with how this new design came out (and that I was able to come up with the imagery in Fall 2023)! There's nothing else I would change about the work done here, but it did teach me to be more conscious of testing my physical work by printing them. It also reminded me to be more mindful of accessibility when designing, as I had to switch between colors with larger contrasts for the sticker sheets.
